But when he actually shoots Ruiz, it surprises him. It certainly surprises Ruiz.

It`s a dramatic shift for my character. He has put away the hatred for his brother - the sibling rivalry, the envy. At the core of him is respect for what he knows Sonny to be, and the subtext that he can save his brother.
