Sometimes, that`s going to happen. It was ugly. But after you play for awhile, you see a lot of ugly innings.
I`d like to have had more of a chance,
It is kind of weird the way it`s worked out. Getting to see the rivalry from both sides is a trip. At both places, you`re taught to hate the other side so much.
I enjoyed my time ... I enjoyed my time with a championship team. It got tough for me near the end -- not that I was ready to leave, but I could see that they were moving me in that direction. I put a lot of pressure on myself.
Every guy in this locker room knows what happened last year and how it happened. Maybe the fire`s on this side now. When you lose, the way the Red Sox did (to the Yankees in 2003) or the way the Yankees did last year, you have a little more determination.
I never would have thought it. But this is a pretty potent lineup. You can`t get down too much.
Just watching (Schilling) go about it out there was awesome. It kept us in the series.
(Manager Terry Francona saluted both, saying Embree was) a big part of what happened here, ... one of the best guys and a good teammate.
There are a lot of great players here, but he`s the guy that always stood out. He was always the guy that wanted the ball hit to him or wanted that at-bat. He was the guy always capable of getting that hit.
I put a lot of pressure on myself. Obviously, I wanted to perform and knew I had the ability to do that and maybe I tried to force it too much. You look at the year before and you know you`re capable of putting up those kind of numbers. You`re human, so you have thoughts like (whether he can`t do it anymore) that come into your mind but that`s the last thing you want to think about. As hard as it is, you have to try to find positives in everything.
