That`s fairly accurate, I think, for a great number of us. Becoming a star wouldn`t have bothered me, but what is a star? A star isn`t anything. An actor acts. That`s the important thing. (on being an actress instead of a star)

Kazan deserved the Oscar. It was for his work not his politics. It was a lifetime achievement award, and I believe his work was worthy of that.

I think it`s because it was an emotional story, and emotions come through much stronger in black and white. Colour is distracting in a way, it pleases the eye but it doesn`t necessarily reach the heart.
