There was a lot of pressure to have geographical balance on the ticket, someone from a different part of the state. But this is an incredibly diverse state. There are no two people who can encompass that diversity. So I choose someone who would share my values and my vision.

They thought they were putting an albatross around my neck. Little did they know they were building me a life raft.
