That was fun. I wasn`t playing like we were trying to win the world championship or the World Cup ... just take it easy.
I don`t want to talk about my hitting. My job is to pitch a good ballgame every time out. The triple was a gift. I take pride in my hitting, but I`m not a hitter.
That`s a gift from God. I`m there to pitch.
Sometimes I get lucky and hit some pitches, ... I don`t try to hit the ball like (Todd) Walker does, just try to make contact.
That`s a gift from God, ... I`m there to pitch.
The third inning it started to bother me. I went as far as I could.
I`ve been working hard on strength and conditioning. When you do a good job and take care of your body, at the end of the season you feel strong.
That was a good at-bat, and I think that was the key of the game. He`s getting more comfortable.
I tried to throw a fastball inside, and the ball kind of slipped out of my hand where I didn`t want to throw it. That was a big mistake. If I walk Chipper in that situation and get a groundball with the next hitter, then nothing happens and I should win the game 2-0.
Maybe next Spring Training, I will work on that.
