Weeping Quotes

Two of my mom`s most oft-repeated mom-isms are: "Happiness is your own responsibility" and "Weeping may last through the night, but joy comes in the morning." Both are true.

I`d be dead without my sense of humor. I can`t imagine processing the shit we are slogging our way through in life without it. In a twenty-four-hour space, you get an acute sense of how all of this injustice and out-rage is absurd. There are things that are truly serious, like when one loses his health or gets into a life- threatening accident. But the rest of it.... If you can`t laugh your way through life, then you are fucked. Humor was the first form of armor I ever wore to counteract my self-image. The first girl I ever asked out on a date laughed at me, because she thought I was kidding. While I didn`t cry on the surface, inside I was weeping. But outwardly I made a joke out of the situation. So humor has always been my shield against the slings and arrows. I turn them into something satiric.

I didn`t like my Bond Girl outfits. The designer was a friend of the directors and I thought they were too boring and middle-aged for my character. The right costumes are essential for getting into a part; I`ve witnessed many costume parades with grumpy or even weeping actors because they`ve been put into the wrong thing.

I did a book signing when we were in New York the day before yesterday. A lady came through and she was just weeping, and said, `I wish this would have been brought out sooner, my sister is in prison for suffocating her child.`

I took the screenplay to the pub with me one Sunday afternoon and started reading it. By about page 60 I was weeping into my pint of lager. I was very moved by it and laughing out loud as well.

Man, we were weeping, ... I`ve never seen so much destruction.

Maureen and I started weeping when we saw the Rodrigo boots. We`re the criers in the bunch, and pretty soon everyone had tears in her eyes.

I suppose and I hope that the young guys who are out there losing their lives at least feel the same way I did. I shouldn`t think about this very much because I`m almost weeping when I think about it.

It is still a shock. It seems like a bad dream and that when I wake up I will see him. But all I find are people weeping.

I guess I don`t want to get too much in detail. But I was just picturing in my mind and weeping with all the people that were left in the city and the experiences they had. Many of those experiences I`ve heard, many of them I can only dream about. . . . To think of that chaos and the way in which people died and the way in which people potentially are still dying, I allowed myself to really think of that and to weep for them this morning.
