I fight cynicism. It`s too easy. It`s really boring. It`s much harder to be positive and see the wonder of everything. Cynicism is a bunch of people who aren`t as talented as other people, knocking them because they make them feel even more untalented.
- Ewan McGregor"We had vast objections to the whole San Francisco scene. It`s just tedious, a lie and untalented. They can`t play and they certainly can`t write... You know, people like Jefferson Airplane, Grateful Dead are just the most untalented bores that ever came up. Just look at them physically, I mean, can you take Grace Slick seriously? It`s a joke! It`s a joke! The kids are being hyped."
- Lou Reed(on attending the Professional Children`s High School in Manhattan:) "Everybody there had a talent, and everyone was respected. If somebody didn`t like you--they didn`t talk to you! They didn`t make fun of you, punish you. You could, you know, mess around with how you dress. You really had that chance to find yourself, and I thank God for that school. I went to that school feeling amazingly untalented. That school was my lifeline. Let me tell you something--talent night at our school? There was nothing like it."
- Sarah Michelle GellarI don`t know if you ever say to yourself that you want to be an actress. It eventually becomes a social function - you are an actress and you make a living out of it, but at the beginning it`s more a matter of how to survive, or how to exist in a certain way. I think being an actress is more how to cope with the fact that you can`t do anything else than to express a talent. It`s a way of being untalented for anything. To say, "I want to be an actress" is to say, "I can`t do anything else, so let`s try to be an actress.
- Isabelle HuppertI think being an actress is more how to cope with the fact that you can`t do anything else than to express a talent. It`s a way of being untalented for anything.
