(Recalling raising his children in the 1970s)There was one moment where they were riding their little ponies in Scotland, and Stella (Stella McCartney) said to me: `Dad! You`re Paul McCartney, aren`t you?` `Yes darling, but I`m Daddy really`.
- Paul McCartney"I just love to shock people. Yesterday my friend said, "What a great top, is it Stella?" I said, "No, it`s Mango, £25." I`m never head-to-toe in anything. I like to mix things from Prada, things from Marc Jacobs. But, you know, you can spend several thousand pounds on something, wear it for one day and the button falls off. I get really pissed off when you spend so much money."
- Claudia Schiffer"Every time I dress up to go somewhere, I say this is who I am: like, I feel like a Russian hooker tonight. A long time ago, I put on a Stella McCartney top with a huge amount of feathers, and I had really black eye makeup and stringy hair. My mom was like, `That top`s not working`. But that`s what I looked like, a Russian hooker".
- Naomi WattsIntellectually I`d love to play Stanley Kowalski in "A Streetcar Named Desire" . . . Can`t you just imagine me down in the streets yelling, "Stella! Stella!" God, the critics would have a lot of fun with that one.
- Roddy McDowallThen I heard this genius teacher Stella Adler - I recommend you read anything you might find about her and if you have anyone interested in theatre, you get them one of her books.
- Harvey KeitelI went to acting school in New York City for two years. I studied with Stella Adler.
- Judd NelsonI just love to shock people. Yesterday my friend said, What a great top, is it Stella?" I said, "No, it`s Mango, £25." I`m never head-to-toe in anything. - Claudia SchifferI am the proudest dad in the world. I thought that it was brilliant, and Stella has come such a long way since she first started out. (Following daughter Stella McCartney`s graduation fashion show, June 1995)
- Paul McCartney(on his beginning acting training) I was frustrated at Hofstra (University), so I moved to Manhattan, worked as a waiter and at a fruit-and-vegetable stand. I lived in a cheap railroad flat on East 171st Street, took classes at Juilliard and finally worked my way into Stella Adler`s actors` studio. And that made all the difference. This woman was like getting a flame inside you, she was so inspirational.
- Robert Davi(in August 1999, when asked to what he attributes his success) Hard work. You gotta study, man. It`s like any profession. I did eight years in theater. I studied two years in school in New York with Stella Adler, the best teacher in the world. I studied under Nina Foch, I did theater, I learned my craft. You got to learn how to build a character, there`s a way to do it. Everything I ever did was different. I did 125 films, and over 100 television shows, and you`ve never seen the same character twice. I think now, in my 50s, with (Robert Duvall), (Albert Finney) and (Gene Hackman), those guys are getting up there in their 60s, it`s my time. And I`m making sure that I push myself into their slot. So, my best work`s coming.
- Brion JamesWe make shorts every week for STELLA - I`ve always enjoyed making little shorts with my friends and I don`t intend to stop. Wet Hot was just a 90 minute short.
