Standings Quotes

We`d like to finish over .500, obviously, ... I`m not saying we`re shooting to be a .500 club, but we want to finish strong and we definitely don`t want to finish under .500. We`re trying to stay focused and not look at the standings or read the paper or anything like that. Just come to the field with a job to do every day and take care of business.

I still have many goals left, especially the Overall World Cup standings.

I`m sure everyone looks at the standings at one time or another. We knew the Yankees would be there from Day 1. We knew it would be a tight race and it will probably come down to the last three games of the season against these guys. They`re two good teams.

Football now, to be honest, it bores me. You can publish the salaries of the teams and then you look at the standings and they are almost the same.

As far as the standings go, this game didn`t mean much. But it meant a lot to us, just to prove to ourselves and to everyone else that we could beat them. They beat us this year, last year and ended our season in the playoffs last year. So we were starting to wonder when we were going to catch a break against those guys. That`s why this game is so big for us.

I`d have to say right now he`s probably looking toward the top five in the point standings, ... even though I`d love to believe that he could still get the championship.

It is huge going into the break getting a win against the best team in the league and then to come out today and beat a team that is below us in the standings, ... That is the object of the game to win games and make the playoffs.

In the points standings, I`m kind of far out but, if I ride well and someone else messes up, then anything`s possible, ... It would have to be a crazy situation for those guys ahead of me to really mess up, but you never know.

We can`t worry about the standings or watching the scoreboard or any of that kind of stuff. We just need to work on getting better.

Before these two games we had trouble scoring and we knew what these two games meant in the standings.

We sat down a couple of nights ago, after we lost our second game, to Italy. We were disappointed with the loss, but one encouraging bit of news was that we knew we still had to play everybody who was ahead of us in the standings. We realized if we would win out, we`d get to the medals round..

The way the standings are looking, we still think 6-3 is into the medal round, for sure.

At Loudon, things can go one way or the other. It`s very difficult to pass, and track position means a lot. Pit strategy means a lot too. We`re going to concentrate on being as consistent as possible throughout the race. At a track like this, you want to work to make sure you come out with the best finish possible, which will help the team at least maintain their current position in the point standings and possibly pick up some more points as well.
