I`d never read the book (Of Mice and Men) in school or anything. So when I read the screenplay I just cried my eyes out. I couldn`t believe - it was just a beautiful story. When I met with Gary Sinise, he just said, `You know, she`s always played - and she was written - as this horrible vamp.` And he didn`t want her to be that way.
