It was one of the spookiest jobs I`ve ever had, but Alcatraz was not the problem. Most of the film was done in L.A. I`m in this four-by-six cell--wet, naked, covered in shit, live bugs in my hair, live rats chewing on my leg, Chained to the walls for a lot of it. Being beaten by Gary Oldman; of course, I can`t think of anyone I would rather be beaten by. One day, it was four-thirty on a Monday morning, we`d been working all night, and the ground started shaking. We were right near the epicenter. It was a horrible experience. Here I was, naked, shackled in this cell, and just every day playing some new level of agony. It was the closest I`d ever come to losing it. I`d cry on the way to work. - Kevin BaconIt never felt real to me. I never felt I had complete ownership over Bond. Because you`d have these stupid one-liners - which I loathed - and I always felt phony doing them. I`d look at myself in the suit and tie and think, "What the heck am I doing here?" Such sentiments were nothing new. That was always the frustrating thing about the role. Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson play it so safe. The pomposity and rigmarole that they put directors through is astounding . . . I can do anything I want to do now. I`m not beholden to them or anyone. I`m not shackled by some contracted image.
- Pierce BrosnanPhysical nature lies at our feet shackled with a hundred chains. What of the control of human nature? Do not point to the triumphs of psychiatry, social services or the war against crime. Domination of human nature can only mean the domination of every man by himself.
- Alice RaineConflicting commercial regulations of the different States shackled and diminished both foreign and domestic trade; hence the power to regulate commerce was conferred.
- Andre BauerAs a physician, Senator Frist has a moral calling to save lives and alleviate suffering. He joins Nancy Reagan, dozens of Nobel Laureates, thousands of scientists, and millions of patients across the nation in calling for an end to the restrictions that have shackled the search for new cures. I applaud his courage in putting patients over politics.
