Scoreboard Quotes

I don`t think guys are looking at the scoreboard this early. We have the day off to clear our minds and get ready for Tuesday.

We had our lowest score for the whole year today; the team was really focusing on each shot. I saw some really good shots from my golfers, but I didn`t know how it all added up until I saw the scoreboard.

Any win is important nowadays. Obviously, Philly has been playing well and their score was posted on the scoreboard before we started. They lost and we knew we had a golden opportunity to gain a game. We went out and did it. So it`s two more off the magic number, whatever it is. It`s probably 100. But nonetheless, it`s another day in the books and we gained a game.

When you play long enough, you have friends everywhere, and family in some places, ... I`ve just always watched the scoreboard, not while action is going on, of course.

You don`t really scoreboard watch because the other teams don`t put the other games on the scoreboard like we do, ... We basically want to win our game, then when our game is over you ask `What did they do?`

I told our guys we were looking for effort and execution and that would find out where we are. Obviously we would like to win on the scoreboard, but really we just wanted to get out there against somebody else.

We won`t have to look at the scoreboard anymore, and we will have a good series, have some fun and play good baseball.

I guess that`s the silver lining. The nice thing about our position is we don`t have to watch the scoreboard. It`s interesting, and we`re gonna do it, but if we can take care of business and win, it`s not going to matter.

More scoring. That`s what the league wants. Calling those fouls up front leads to more penetration, maybe more free throws. It`s one way to get more points on the scoreboard.

Then after I saw the scoreboard that we were tied, I was really happy, because I really wanted to win.

That`s why if it was up to me, I`d turn off all of the TVs in the clubhouse. And I`d turn the (out-of-town) scoreboard off at home, too. What good does it do? When you`re in a pennant race, you shouldn`t worry about the teams chasing you, so why watch the games?

There is still nothing on the proverbial scoreboard.

I don?t look at it as a benching. I was frustrated for (Mackey). I think he?s a better player than he was showing. He just wasn?t relaxed. I think he was just a little shell shocked looking up at the scoreboard.

The competition is pretty stiff the next few weeks. The kids are working hard this week. You want to show well and be heading into league on a positive, no matter what happens on the scoreboard.

Our team showed a lot of personality today. They were relentless and didn`t pay attention to the scoreboard. They never gave up and kept on fighting. When you have a team with this kind of attitude, you are going to be successful. Louisville is an excellent team. This was a great win for us.

Four points out of that...we`ve got to be a little bit happy. We didn`t make it easy for ourselves. When you get behind on the scoreboard the thing is not to panic and we held together and believed to could do it.

Just looking at the scoreboard and seeing we were up by (27) -- that was unbelievable to me.
