With the war and everything that`s going on, unless you`re Susan Sarandon, the best route is to keep your mouth shut. For me it is, anyway!
- Robbie Williams(From Movieline magazine April 2002) People like Susan Sarandon have paved the way and our window of opportunity expands incrementally year by year. Obviously the kind of roles I`m offered are different than before, but I feel like the roles have only gotten more interesting. I want to grow up to be Judi Dench or Ellen Burstyn. The older we get, the less we work, but look at the work just those two women are doing. It gets deeper.
- Michelle PfeifferI`ve been involved with the Creative Coalition since shortly after the founding by (actor) Ron Sliver and (actress) Susan Sarandon and (actor) Christopher Reeve. I love to really roll up my sleeves and get my hands dirty on any level when it comes to these sorts of issues, (i.e. gun control, freedom of speech) on a grass roots level or a clerical level. I love to educate myself and others and help raise awareness on important issues. I love to utilize my celebrity status in a responsible and constructive and substantive manner. I like to get my hands dirty rather than a photo op."
- William Baldwin(On Susan Sarandon) "She`s just a force of nature. Amazing to work with. We just had such a laugh. And, she`s frighteningly smart".
- Emily BluntAccumulating money has never been a real goal for me. Rather, I think about how to make every moment of my life mean something. What`s been my barometer for success is my creative and spiritual growth - I measure my success by the quality of my work. Last year I sat down and re-examined things. I asked myself if I wanted to do anything and everything just to get a lot of money. I decided I`d rather work and collaborate with people at the top of their craft. And my dream has come true. This year I`m doing a picture with four Academy Award winners: Director Robert Benton, Susan Sarandon, Gene Hackman, and Paul Newman. - 1997.
- Giancarlo EspositoI think it`s really important for celebrities to use their power of money and fame to get their voices out there. It`s funny to me that we`re expected to keep quiet just because of who we are. Why do I lose my right to speak my mind because I`m famous? People criticize Michael Moore, Tim Robbins and Susan Sarandon for standing up for what they believe in, but that`s what they do. They never pretended to be anyone else.
- Lisa EdelsteinAsked what she thinks of Hollywood liberals George Clooney, Susan Sarandon and Sean Penn: "I think they`re not well."
- Jane RussellThe women I admire most in this business are Susan Sarandon, Bette Midler and Winona Ryder. Susan Sarandon because she`s, well, Susan Sarandon. Winona because she`s never compromised herself by showing her body in any of her love scenes, and Bette Midler because she has such a varied life. Her family, her marriage and her career are all priorities.
- Keiko AgenaI`m not Susan Sarandon. I don`t want to bang a drum. I think I`m just going to say `I`m pro-choice` and leave it at that. (On her view about abortion, something she`s been asked a lot after her role in Vera Drake (2004))
- Imelda Staunton
