On his role in The Talented Mr. Ripley (1999) - "I told Anthony that if I play Dickie Greenleaf, I want to eat in the best restaurants and drink the best wines every night because he would".
- Jude Law{About working on Enemy at the Gates (2001)) "Yeah, I got blown up, cut up...I remember actually, when I had to go the Ripley premiere which was happening at that time, I arrived with this huge gash in my head. Very cool, really".
- Jude Law(About his injury during Dickie`s death scene in The Talented Mr. Ripley (1999)) "Matt (Damon) broke my rib! But I think I strained his neck, we got a little bit carried away".
- Jude Law(On his favorite roles) Good Will Hunting (1997) is so close to my heart because my best friend (Ben Affleck) and I invented him, he`s from Boston, and it was what we knew. The stakes were pretty high with "Good Will Hunting" and it worked out as best as it can in this business - people saw the movie, it got good reviews, I was happy with the finished product, and they gave us an Oscar. I am also pretty fond of "Tom Ripley" - playing smart and sinister is just so much fun. I wasn`t that fond of his choice of swim trunks, though, so a few points away for that. And "John Grady Cole" in All the Pretty Horses (2000) was good, too. The integrity of that character is admirable. Unfortunately, I am the only one who saw that movie, so no one will get that reference.
- Matt Damon(describing his role in The Talented Mr. Ripley (1999)) "The chap in the duffle coat jumping up and down in the background!"
- Jack DavenportFor Ripley I learned to play some songs on the piano, and I never really played them again.
- Matt DamonPlaying Freddie Miles was really easy. It was one of those parts you know exactly what you`re doing. The character is not beating around the bush at all. His main action is to expose Tom Ripley as a phoney. - On his role in the Talented Mr. Ripley.
- Philip Seymour HoffmanI`m no Ripley. I had doubts that I could play her as strongly as she had to be played, but I must say that it was fun exploring that side of myself. Women don`t get to do that very often.
- Sigourney WeaverI love the role of Ripley.
- Sigourney WeaverWhen I`m playing a character like Jonathan in Ripley`s Game I want to be in the moment when he`s feeling pain; this very ordinary person who finds himself in extraordinary circumstances.
- Dougray ScottRipley is married. And he`s not lost. He has his feet on the ground.
- Patricia HighsmithI don`t think Ripley is gay. He appreciates good looks in other men, that`s true. But he`s married in later books. I`m not saying he`s very strong in the sex department. But he makes it in bed with his wife.
