Laurence Olivier might have been a much better actor on film if he hadn`t had that flippant attitude. (He) was a remarkable actor, but he was entirely missing the point consistently. He felt that film was an inferior form.
- Daniel Day-LewisI came rather close to dying. A serious motorcycle accident. It made me less flippant about danger! It was such a pleasure to walk again after a long period of immobilization. It`s an extraordinary joy. And it puts everything into perspective: money, fame... I`m no longer afraid of dying, I`m afraid of suffering.
- Olivier MartinezBrian (Jones) had this horrible streak. John Lennon had it, too. John could be one of the nicest, most hilarious people you`d ever meet, but he could also be a cruel bugger. He used this terrible rapier-like wit to kick people down. Obviously, a very talented man, but, to me, John was just like everybody I went to art school with - funny, flippant, but he`d walk over anybody who got in his way. Not the nicest person in the world, and Brian was the same.
