`Isn`t it fun getting older` is really a terrible fallacy. That`s like saying I prefer driving an old car with a flat tyre.
- Katharine HepburnSome people just court celebrity for the sake of it. People like Tom Cruise. He was always a great actor, but I think the man`s lost it, lost it. You won`t ever catch me jumping up and down on Oprah going on about how I love this woman. And then others start feeding off it. Suddenly, Katie Holmes is on the covers of magazines. These people claim they hate the intrusion that fame brings but then they bring it on themselves by having huge entourages everywhere they go, attracting attention to themselves. It`s a great fallacy. Another one`s Paris Hilton. Famous for being infamous. And the people who should be getting the attention, people like Bob Dylan, aren`t. It`s sad.
- Jon Bon JoviDemocracy is beautiful in theory; in practice it is a fallacy.
- Benito MussoliniSee, even despite pious statements to the contrary, much of the industrialized world has not yet come to terms with the recognition of the fallacy of what I call the strong man syndrome.
- Wole SoyinkaAn expert is a person who avoids small error as he sweeps on to the grand fallacy.
- Aaron GlennI`m not afraid of facts, I welcome facts but a congeries of facts is not equivalent to an idea. This is the essential fallacy of the so-called "scientific" mind. People who mistake facts for ideas are incomplete thinkers; they are gossips.
- Aaron ScheffThe third fallacy is that affirmative action doesn`t work.
- Alexander IzosimovThat fallacy flies in the face of studies that show, every day, in every way, things are getting a little worse for America`s minorities relative to the progress made by those in the top percentiles of assets and income.
- Alexander IzosimovPeople assume that because you have graced the same stage as the star act, in front of thousands, you must be reaping similar financial rewards. This is a complete fallacy.
- Alicia DixonWe were very interested in avoiding the fallacy that you can replicate on three completely different people the performance of the three other people.
- Antoine WinfieldScience is simply common sense at its best, that is, rigidly accurate in observation, and merciless to fallacy in logic.
