Daytona Quotes

I woke up this morning, and I still don`t believe I won the Daytona 500.

I`ve never won the Daytona 500 before.

It`s going to be a crapshoot at Talladega. It always is. It doesn`t matter where you start at places like this and Daytona. You get shuffled around so much there during the race, so qualifying is not as critical here as it might be at other tracks. The important thing is to be there at the end and see what happens. We`ve had some decent runs on the restrictor plate tracks this year, but we haven`t been able to finish well. We`ve run up front at times and the cars have been good. Hopefully, we can miss everything this weekend and get a good finish.

I thought everyone was doing a good job. It all broke loose. This is my first time at Daytona, and I got the full skinny.

I think Dale would at least be pleased from that to know that we moved forward in that. He and I had a discussion the week of the Daytona 500 about the HANS because he was questioning me why I was wearing it. But certainly, there were a lot more put into use the weeks following that Daytona 500.

There`s a tremendous number of the Daytona Prototypes.

Daytona has been good to me the last couple of years. With the tight points races every time I turn a wheel on the track it counts in a big way. Daytona can make or break your season. I feel confident going into the race that we can come out on top.

My youngest daughter Naomi had never been to Disney World, so I thought I would kill two birds with one stone. Take my youngest daughter to Disney World and celebrate making the Daytona 500.

We`re competitors, we`re here to beat everybody else. We want to go home to Charlotte and go to Daytona to test and say we were the best bobsled driver. I didn`t come here to run second.
