John Lennon was definitely one of my heroes. I think he always wrote from his heart. He was a very complicated individual, but there`s an honesty about his songwriting that I think makes it very powerful. Sometimes it`s very simplistic, childlike and naive; and that is what gives it some of its strength.
- Peter GabrielThe best actors, I think, have a childlike quality. They have a sort of an ability to lose themselves. There`s still some silliness.
- Kenneth Branagh(On friend Joan Crawford): She is five feet four, but she looks six feet on the screen. In a two-shot with anyone, even Gable, (Clark Gable), your eyes fix on her. She is imperious, yet with a childlike sparkle. She is haughty, yet tender. She has no great range as an actress, yet within the range she can perform better than any of her contemporaries.
- Steven SpielbergI have heard show business characterized as a refuge for childlike persons in flight from all things harsh and real.
- Carroll O'ConnorActing is instant enjoyment and childlike. As an actor, Lord God, I can take an audience in a theatre and throw them in any direction. I can`t do that as a writer. Writing is painful, it`s lonely and you suffer and there`s no immediate feedback.
- Robert ShawActing itself is a very childlike thing. You`re asked to suspend reality and to play - and what better place than when you`re sitting there looking like the most weird villain imaginable? You have all these toys around you. It brings out the child in you much easier than when you`re standing around in a suit playing a cop.
- Michael IronsideI quite like childlike songs, which sometimes cross over.
- Alan PriceThe process I go through in the art and the architecture, I actually want it to be almost childlike. Sometimes I think it`s magical.
- Maya LinIt is the childlike mind that finds the kingdom.
- Alan E. StrongReligion can emerge in all forms of feeling: here wild anger, there the sweetest pain; here consuming hatred, there the childlike smile of serene humility.
- Alex GarwoodGolf appeals to the idiot in us and the child. Just how childlike golf players become is proven by their frequent inability to count past five.
