Brace Quotes

ER was one of my favourites. I played a car accident victim who has leukemia. I got to wear a neck brace and nose tubes for the two days I worked.

If an athlete ruptures or strains an (anterior cruciate ligament) in an evening game, we can have a custom, lightweight carbon fiber brace to that athlete by mid-morning the next day. This would have taken weeks in Namath`s era.

When `Sixteen Candles` first came out I was totally offended by the girl in the brace, but I saw the movie recently and I laughed so hard I cried,

I worked right the way through the summer, ... I had a grade-two tear of the ligament. They couldn`t reconstruct it so I had to go in a brace and let it heal itself. Then I had to work on the strength of the muscles and the hamstring to compensate for the missing ligament. I was on crutches for about three weeks and then it was about getting the movement back. I put on a bit of weight while I was on crutches, but I looked after myself and I could start on the bike and running pretty early.

It`s a matter of making sure I look after it. I`m just icing it and keeping the brace on to stop the swelling.
