Young women say I helped them come out of their shells, and 13 rock groups have written songs about me. One song has these lyrics all the way through, `I love Bettie Page. I love Bettie Page. I love Bettie Page.` (LA Times 3-11-06)
- Bettie Page(Jerry Tibbs was) the one who got me wearing bangs. For years I had my hair parted down the middle in a ponytail, tucked down around the sides. But he said to me, `Bettie, you`ve got a very high forehead. I think you`d look good if you cut some bangs to cover it.` Well, I went and cut the bangs, and I`ve been wearing them ever since. They say it`s my trademark.
- Bettie PageRegarding the title The Notorious Bettie Page (2005): "Notorious? That`s not flattering at all. They should have used another word." (LA Times 3-11-06)
- Bettie PagePeople were always able to look at Bettie Page and see what they needed her to be and she gave them that permission to do so. So in that way she`s a feminist but I don`t think she was ever trying to be.
- Gretchen MolThe interesting thing about Bettie Page that I discovered was to leave the mystery. She always retained a little mystery. Let there be some unknowns.
- Gretchen Mol(Of her watching "Bettie Page" pornographic film loops to understand her character in The Notorious Bettie Page (2005)) I love the loops! I couldn`t take my eyes off of them. It was five minutes dedicated to the art of the shoe, and putting the shoe on -- but first the stocking. It was so geisha. There was something so presentational. Bettie was just lost in her own world, dancing around with this fringe bikini on, with this weird lamp on the side table.
