I didn`t come here just to sit back,
I don`t get too focused on what (the coaches) are thinking, because if I do that, I can`t focus on what I`m doing. If you do, when you`re out on the field, you think about it. When you`re in the locker room, it can cause tension and cause you not to be totally focused on helping the team. I try not to get sidetracked.
Obviously you want to start, but if I don`t start I still have to prepare like I`m a starter because you never know what`s going to happen, ... That`s something I learned in college. During my junior year I was playing behind Mike Doss now with Indianapolis and Donnie Nickey now with Tennessee so I just had to stay focused and ready.
He practically lived with me my senior year.
I mean, Kurt Warner is Kurt Warner. You don`t put a guy like that in this league and then he changes over night.
We`re trying to put things together here. Hopefully this is the beginning of something special. It`s about time we restored that pride thing to New York.
The whole country will be watching.
Those are the guys who started this tradition and honor.
I think I`ve made a lot of progress. But I think I have a lot to work on in the mental part of the game. I need to just keep learning every day. I`m really hard on myself to be the best.
It`s fair to judge people on how many turnovers they have, but there`s so many other things, too. No. 1 is make sure the other guy doesn`t catch the ball.
