We didn`t decide to do this race until real late. Everybody on the No. 8 car and the No. 1 car chipped in and helped build this thing.

We came here to test last week before our weekend off, and I`d say everything went pretty well. So, we`re looking to hit the ground running. Everyone has been pretty jazzed since Richmond. Let`s just see if we can pick up right where we left off.

I`m getting more comfortable in the race car, we`re communicating a lot better. ... It is just finally starting to come together for us.

Win races and contend for the championship, that`s what we want to do.

We didn`t have much to lose, so we took a gamble there. I was a little nervous. I was lifting early. It all worked out.

It`s a unique place, kind of like Bristol on steroids. It`s a lot different than all of these 1 1/2-mile tracks that it seems like we`re always running on.
