My time is now. I`ve stayed positive and hungry and worked hard. Having not done it yet is going to make it more special when I do.
When they took Roy, they told me about him, ... When they took Mike, they (didn`t) say (anything) to me. I didn`t know what to think. I put it like this: `It`s like 50-50 with me. They don`t know if they can count on me or not.` So it was a good business move. You can`t knock the hustle.
Everybody`s talking about there`s going to be a problem with egos, but I brought Mike in with open arms and showed him as much love as any receiver here. Deep down inside, Roy knows what`s up, and Mike knows what`s up. I want to catch 10 balls a game, but if I do I do, if I don`t I don`t. I ain`t gonna trip. Competition brings the best out of you. Some people get the best brought out of them on Sundays. It`s every day out here.
You have to look at the big picture,
Overall, Graves is a good person, ... I just hope the stress from upstairs isn`t so tough on him that (it hurts) the relationship with the wide receivers. He`s going to have pressure. He`s got three No. 1 picks. ... But hey, he knew the assignment when he came.
(And lurking at a concession stand nearby is the debate of whether there are enough footballs to keep all of the receivers happy.) That`s on the quarterback, ... Ask Joey. Joey`s got to spread (it) around.... All I can do is get open.
I`m 99.7 percent healthy. As you can see from my (29-yard touchdown catch against the Browns), I was a little rusty in the end zone. I forgot how to react and I gave the ball to a kid wearing Roy`s (No. 11) jersey. I told Roy he has to give it to a kid wearing my No. 80 when he scores.
Joey`s doing a nice job spreading the ball around. It`s up to him how it goes. We don`t have any egos at receiver. You can`t have egos and win games. With all of us, everybody can`t eat every game.
It`s like I, Robot , when Will Smith had that iron on one side of his body. I know I`m protected, ... I`m not going out there timid. God forbid it to happen again, but if it does it`ll be when I`m running 110 miles an hour.
We`ll see. Make sure you ask me that question again at the end of the season.
