Anita Avramides Quotes

Anita Avramides

There definitely was a perception if he was in the field he was going to win ? at that time. I think the perception now is that he`s the guy to beat, but I don`t think guys think it`s a given that he`s going to win. But he`s definitely the player to beat. He just thinks differently than the rest of us do.

Part of his learning process is helping other guys.

If I`d done this last week there wouldn`t be a controversy. If I was such a lock to be on the Ryder Cup team, I should have made it by myself. I`ve got no one to blame but myself.

The perception now is that (Woods) is still the guy to beat. But I don`t think guys think it`s a given that he`s going to win.

I watch guys do it all the time and they`re doing it wrong. They don`t know what they`re doing.

It`s got no chance. You can`t ban metal spikes.

I knew it all last year, ... My thought was, I`ve got to play myself into the Masters. That happened to me in `98, too. My Open exemption from `93 was running out. That was my main motivation when I won the Open again at Olympic Club in `98, that I had to play my way back into the majors, at least get a top-15... I`ve been working on some stuff, shot some good scores but just haven`t been able to put up four in a row.

I still don`t put myself in the same category as the other guys (on the Tour).

The last round of the British Open, (Woods) was flawless. That`s the sort of thing we kind of fear. If he plays like that, he`s impossible to beat.

I`m not going to say it could never be that way. But I don`t think (Woods) is quite there right now.
