I will be close to my record tomorrow night,
The last 50 wasn`t there like I was hoping it would be, ... I`ll take the win.
It was nice to be swimming next to (Canada's) Mike Brown, because I knew the crowd was screaming for him, but I took some of the energy like it was for me. It was fun swimming tonight, and tomorrow looks to be even better.
I love the support from the crowd. I just felt driven when every time I came out of the water the crowd was shouting and cheering me on.
Following last night`s race I think this was a classic case of seeing what you did wrong and fixing it for the next time in the pool.
Tonight we had a team meeting and said, `This is going to be a red-line meet,`
As far as getting up for the meet and getting excited, Mutual of Omaha did a great job of setting up the venue, so the atmosphere around the pool and from the people in the stands didn`t reflect that we were up by so much. Their energy really carried us through.
I think if (the score) was closer, you would have seen faster times, ... Our men`s team is so strong. I think it has to do with leadership. Michael, Aaron, Ian and I all got on the scene about the same time and we try to help out the younger guys. We`re young, but you`re going to see some younger guys coming up. The U.S. is going to continue to dominate. You`ll start to see a dynasty.
I walked away from 2004 knowing I didn`t swim my own race. This time, I didn`t look around and panic. I kept my blinders on. . . . Overall, it went really well. The Texas guys started swimming fast and then everyone did.
