Daytona has been good to me the last couple of years. With the tight points races every time I turn a wheel on the track it counts in a big way. Daytona can make or break your season. I feel confident going into the race that we can come out on top.
It was a tough track tonight. You really had to be on your game. I figured my line out in the whoops before these guys and I was just sticking to it. Something was telling me it was going to get ugly. At this point, I don`t even care about the title. I know if I put myself in good positions like that these next two weekends then a title is possible.
I`m not going to give up. It takes me a few laps to get going, but I`ve decided I`m going for it. No excuses. I chose to do this and I`m happy to be on the podium again.
I want to be up there battling with those guys. I`ve got to figure out a way to get better starts and to stay up front. That`s my main concern right now. The team has worked hard to give me a great bike, now I need to go out there and at least battle hard for the lead.
We`re just not putting it together. The speed is decent, and the package is there. We`ve just got to put it together for the weekend.
We`ve got a new motorcycle this year and I`ve felt better on the bike each time I ride it. I know the results will come. We just have to keep working and stay consistent. I always seem to get hot in the second half of the season so I have to at least keep close early on to give myself a chance to win the championship again.
Honestly, I felt confident. Today (in practice) I was horrible, but my team did a good job helping me get ready and it worked out for us.
Today I was horrible. I`ve had my head in my behind the whole season. I needed this as a confidence booster. Our whole team worked hard and I have to thank them for being patient.
This one was tough to swallow. I`ve just got to get back on the pace.
I`m hoping the time off before Dallas gives my shoulder a chance to get better. It was important for me to keep racing through the injury because you never know in racing when even just a single point can make a major difference.
