I`m extremely, extremely excited she made the decision to want to play again. That`s a lot of points and a lot of rebounds we can`t just count on and assume. So I`d love it, but it`s not going to be final until it`s final.
It`s just a by-product of good teammates and the coaches put me in good situations. That`s really what it is; I really don`t think I did anything special.
We talk about us having six starters. Whoever that sixth person is going to be coming off the bench, they`ve got to be a spark, and Nicky did a great job of that.
Everything we do we`re going to try to do it together. We obviously don`t have any All-Americans on this team, so everything we do is going to have to be done by a group.
A lot of that is a tribute to our transition (offense); even on made shots we were getting up and getting good looks. It was a good balance between the inside and outside play.
Why we were so successful this year was the balance of the five starters and people who also contributed off the bench. I doubt it will be any one person coming in and trying to average 25 points a game again. It`s going to have to be the success of a group of people -- that`s what basketball is all about.
When we`re not shooting the ball as well as we have, and we`re not getting the looks like we have in the past couple of years, you look at what we`re doing well right now. That`s playing defense.
When I went to this point-guard camp the big thing they stressed was getting the ball to your teammates where it`s easiest from them to score.
Offensively, we`ve got to do a better job of getting better shots. It`s not good when we`re at the end of the (shot) clock every other possession shooting 27-foot 3-pointers. And that`s a lot of me getting us in a better offensive flow.
All I know is I could bend for two hours.
